About 12,000 jobs across 400 shops at the second are hanging in the steadiness as struggling discount retailer Wilko is on the brink of collapse. But returning to the early 200s, in 2005 Wilkinson Plus – the web purchasing platform – was launched. This was one other step in the former ironmongery store establishing itself as a shop because it moved to promote things clients ‘could fit in a bag’.
